Dan Dechant

Dan began his military career by enlisting in the United States Army at a young age. There he rose up the ranks and served as an excellent non-commissioned officer.

After his early retirement, he enlisted in a private military company whose activities centred on Africa. Thereupon, he joined the B.S.A.A. because of his righteous indignation from having witnessed the horrific sights caused by B.O.W.s in the recent past.

He became a member of the Special Operations Unit {SOU} affiliated with the West African Branch. At 53 years of age and with an almost unmatched level of field experience, Dan was one of the few B.S.A.A. members to enter the highest senior class.

For the Kijuju mission, Dan led the B.S.A.A. Alpha Team into Kijuju and secured the warehouse which was believed to be the location for Ricardo Irving's weapons deal. However, they were lured into a trap and ambushed by the Uroboros creature that had been infected by the Hooded Figure.

Alpha Team were massacred by the Uroboros creature and although he was mortally wounded, Dan managed to survive through the pain long enough to ensure all the data they had collected on Irving thus far was safely passed onto Chris Redfield of Bravo Team. It was thanks to this information that Dan and his team had gathered, that the mission could carry on and would eventually lead the B.S.A.A. into finally cornering Irving.

After passing Chris the data disc, Dan died from his injuries.
