To most people, Albert Wesker is a hotshot cop who quickly rose through
the ranks of S.T.A.R.S. to become founding member of the S.T.A.R.S.
Raccoon City Department. But a select few know his true history; Wesker is
actually brilliant scientist.
At the young age of 20, Wesker was chosen by Ozwell Spencer, along with
William Birkin, to begin research on a biological organic weapon. Spencer
mainted an underground Umbrella lab at his giant estate, and both Wesker
and Birkin worked there with him. Wesker and Birkin began work on a young
woman named Lisa Trevor, a subject for their attempts to create a virus
that would one day create biological weapons. Eventually, they reached
their goal with the creation of the T-Virus.
Years went by and Wesker began to lose his focus, and could not keep up
with the brilliant Birkin. He decided to leave the lab and join an
Intelligence Agency, which later led him to becoming the leader of
S.T.A.R.S.
In the summer of 1998 a long dead Umbrella general manager named James
Marcus, whom Wesker killed on behalf of Spencer, was seemingly resurrected
and let loose the T-Virus in the Spencer Estate in an insane act of
vengeance. Umbrella ordered Wesker to get real combat data on the B.O.W.s
released at the mansion. Wesker saw this as the perfect opportunity to
make a bunch of money and leave Umbrella.
Wesker set up the Bravo Team to crash land near the mansion and then sent
his own squad, the Alpha Team, into the crash site, positioning him to
collect combat data. Wesker also told Barry Burton that he had his family
held hostage and that Barry must do what he's told if he wants his family
back unharmed. This, however, was all a lie just to force Barry to
cooperate with betrayal of S.T.A.R.S.
While in the mansion, Wesker ordered Barry to keep Jill occupied. When
Jill found Enrico, the leader of Bravo Team, Wesker shot him before he
could tell Jill the truth. Wesker later shot a defenseless Rebecca in the
chest simply because he felt like it.
Finally, Wesker got his best agent, Chris Redfield, alone to show him the
ultimate masterpiece of the T-virus, the Tyrant. That is when Wesker
revealed his plan to steal the Tyrant and sell it to a rival company, thus
betraying Umbrella. He unleashed the Tyrant on Chris, but the Tyrant
turned on its master and stabbed its massive claws through Wesker’s chest.
Albert was, essentially, dead, but hell was too good a place for a man
like Wesker, and he managed to inject himself with a special version of
the T-virus as he was dying. The form allowed Wesker to retain full
control of his body but gave him superhuman strength, speed and
regenerative ability. Wekser then escaped the Spencer Mansion before it
blew without anyone knowing, vowing revenge on S.T.A.R.S., and
specifically Chris, for ruining his plan.
In the following months Wesker hid in the shadows. He hired a woman named
Ada Wong to retrieve a sample of the G-virus from William Birkin, but she
failed in her mission. After the Raccoon City incident, Wesker kidnapped
Sherry Birkin instead, who had the G-virus within her body.
A few months later Wesker, and the new company he worked for, decided to
go after the T-Veronica virus, which the Ashfords held in their island.
Wesker mounted an assault on the island, resulting in another T-virus
outbreak. While on the island Wesker encountered his nemesis Chris
Redfield. Excited about his chance for revenge, Wesker toyed with Chris a
few times even though his first priority was to get the T-Veronica sample.
Alexia Ashford was infected with the T-Veronica virus and was superhuman,
as well. Wesker tried in vain to kill her; she was too strong. Instead,
Wesker took the body of Steve Burnside, a prisoner who was infected with
the T-Veronica virus. On his way out, Wesker finally cornered Chris, and
picked this moment to exact his vengeance. An epic struggle took place and
Chris finally managed to create a barrier between himself and Wesker which
allowed him to escape.
Six long years went by, during which Umbrella was destroyed. Wesker
decided to build his own “Umbrella” using the samples he had collected
over the years. When a parasite known as Las Plagas was discovered in
Europe, Wesker sent Jack Krauser and Ada Wong to collect a sample. What
Wesker did not know was that Ada Wong was actually a double agent, working
for the mysterious “Organization”. She betrayed Wesker and sent him a fake
sample of Las Plagas.
Wesker is the most dangerous man on the planet. He has the means to start
an outbreak in any part of the world, and plans to eventually have a
sample of every major B.O.W. What is his ultimate goal? Can it unspeakable
wealth, or is it world domination? All we know is that Chris Redfield is
still alive and Wesker will stop at nothing until he is dead.
