This deformed creature is a B.O.W., created at the Rockfort Island base, in an attempt to create a Tyrant with greater adaptability. What resulted is a prototype creature known as the Bandersnatch. The distinguishing feature of the bandersnatch is its elastic, extendable right arm. It uses its arm to reach high places and pull itself up. It can attack from a long distance, or swing about to cover an area much like a whip.

But the creature has its share shortcomings. Its left arm is missing so it must depend solely on its right. The lower body is underdeveloped, thus impairing its ability to walk. Instead it uses its arm to get around much quicker. Regardless its ability to reach almost any era and its brute strength made the Bandersnatch a nightmare for Claire and Steve to face at Rockfort Island.
