Another mutant formed from the Raccoon City outbreak, the Grave Diggers were arthropods that were infected with the T-virus. They grew to be 10 meters in length and developed huge teeth and a makeshift mouth at one end. The Grave Digger normally remains underground; feeding on dead bodies at graveyards and will attack any human that comes near.

Jill encountered multiple Grave Diggers during her escape. These beasts would burst forth from the ground to execute a quick attack and would quickly retreat underground to repeat the pattern. Its jaws were so powerful it could eat through concrete and swallow a human whole. The first Grave Digger Jill met was white in color while the second was tanner in comparison. It was a dark brown color and larger than the white version. Jill had a difficult time fighting this Grave Digger at the graveyard, but eventually she came out on top.
