It seems like Las Plagas can control inanimate objects as well, as is the case with Los Armours. They are suits of armor adorned around the castle, which have become hosts for the parasite. The parasite can then control the suit and use the medieval weapons to slay its victims.

Leon fought a few of these living armors, being heavily armored; their only weakness was to attack the exposed parasite that resided behind the helmet.
