“Morir es vivir” is one of the chants of the religious cult known as Los Illuminados. An entire religious group possessed by the Plagas and under control of Salazar, they defend the castle with extreme force.

Los Illuminados wear hoods, the leaders a red one, normally with a large mask to protect their parasite. They have better weapons than their Ganado counterparts; some have scythes, others bow guns and some even have shields. The leaders have an evolved form of Plagas parasite that burst through its head; these can decapitate a human in one swoop.

For Leon, Los Illuminados provided a much harder challenge than the Ganados. The castle was almost a huge maze with traps set along the way where these zealots could get the jump on him.
