The Proto Tyrant was the first prototype of the Tyrant. Developed in the underground Umbrella labs, this first Tyrant was given the maximum amount of T-virus. The experiment was a failure because this creature was not intelligent enough to execute simple commands.

The Proto Tyrant looked very much like the final version, except that his skin would decay quickly. These specimens were “disposed of” deep with in the labyrinth of labs Umbrella created underneath Raccoon City. Rebecca and Billy stumbled upon one of the Proto Tyrants, which was alive and well and angry as hell. Like a normal Tyrant it attacked with no remorse, yet it was unable to defeat the duo.
