Hello everyone, I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. I recently got invited to a hands on event hosted by Gamespot here in San Francisco and played two stages of the game's campaign. I apologize in advance for not having any photos or footage of our playthrough. But I thought that since I actually have experience with it I'd share some info that folks may not know yet.

I know that ORC has gotten a bit of a bad rep among the entire RE community for straying too far away from the core game. But I prefer to think of it as a spin off title like Dead Aim where the series experiments with a different gameplay type but has the luxury of using beloved RE characters. But the franchise rights alone doesn't make it a good game nor a bad one, in the end it's all about how it plays. So how does it play?

It plays surprisingly good! I'm honestly shocked. Though I have immense interest in the game, I expected a dull story with clunky controls but it's quite the opposite. I often wondered how RE5 would feel if it wasn't so grounded with classic RE controls, namely the item menu. Well I guess it would feel like ORC, fast and free with an item system so easy to use, all available at the touch of the D-Pad, and pre-organized. Push right for Grenades, left for first aid spray, and down for anti-virus injection. There are more than enough items and ammo to pick up along the way and definitely more than enough zombies (who also drop items) to shoot. Some new info (at least new to me) you can revive fallen teammates who respawn with all their default items, health, and weapons full; otherwise they stay dead until the next checkpoint or until everyone dies. This was a bit different than most demos where teammates respawn after a few seconds after being killed. Spec Ops enemies can deal damage as fast as you can, especially in large numbers, so taking cover is extremely important. The cover system works really well and cover is available nearly every step of the way. Just simply walk into a provided cover (knocked over table for example) and you'll be safe. Like Gears of War you can even blind fire from cover as well.

SPOILERS!!!! WARNING!!!! SPOILERS!!!!

We were told the first stage we played was never before scene by the public. It happens to be the moment in which HUNK confronts Birkin to forfeit the G-Virus. The involvement of the USS doesn't take away from the story but simply adds to it. According to the cut scenes, the USS were actually escorted HUNK on his mission and even wait outside the room while Mr. Death attempts to take the sample. All hell breaks loose when Birkin comes bursting out of the room in his first form and annihilates HUNK's team (just like RE2) and chases down the USS. Unfortunately you can't really beat Birkin, you can only hold him off while you make a desperate run further into the stage. It's pretty intense, especially when Birkin starts swinging that giant pipe of his. It ends when Birkin finally gives up the chase and HUNK rejoins the USS with a quick aid to get the team out of the sewers. HUNK tells the team, "Go on with out me...I dropped the sample. I'm going back for it." The scene ends with HUNK closing a door on the team and bravely facing down Birkin alone. It's badass.

END OF SPOILERS!!!....

The second stage many of you may have already seen. It involves the first encounter with Nikolai. You can actually see most of it here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUoY24UdEeU
The last leg of this stage was more difficult than it looked. Though you are given tons of ammo and great controls, a room of 40 lickers is still tough! Luckily you don't have to kill them all to actually beat the stage.

Another interesting note, the co-op campaign is 4 players but there are 6 playable characters. Each character has their own unique lines in campaign. It all depends on who opens a door or reaches an objective first while the others chime in with their own comments. So the spoken dialogue in the campaign will actually depend on who you chose to play. That means there's tons of ways to hear each characters unique take on their situations. Though in general, each scenario ends the same way. For example, Nikolai's dialogue and betrayal never changes regardless of chosen characters (as far as I can tell).

The only thing I found a bit odd was how to fire the handgun. I was unaware you can hold down the L1 button (we played on a PS3) and it auto locks on any available target. Because of this you really don't have a choice of who you shoot (at least that's how it felt). Though thanks to this auto lock-on feature, you're likely to hit your target without fail. But I would have preferred being able to just freely aim. Because of this I mainly just stuck with my LMG.

The build we played still had a few bugs of course. Just to name a few: there were frozen/floating zombies(funny), invisible enemies(frustrating!), and turning your own character into an accidental ghost cam.

Here's some of the fun info! Everyone who attended were given a free grey USS shirt, two patches (USS and Spec Ops) and a small USS pin. There seemed to be more than 30 of us there and we played in teams of 4. Each team plays the Nikolai stage and their points are tallied up at the end. The ream with the highest score actually got military style jackets! They were black, had large USS patches on both sleeves and had a name tag on the left breast. There were two Beltways, a Vector, and a Specter jacket on the line. Sadly...my team didn't win. We came in second, losing by a mere 200 points!!! GRR!! A close call! Whether for cosplay, collectors intrigue, or just to wear casually...those jackets were really sweet!. But I bring this up because it's certainly an enticing way to get people to join these events!! Another ORC event will be held in Feburuary here in the San Francisco area (it's expected to be even bigger). Everyone should keep an eye on Capcom-Unity or the official RE Facebook for possible events in their area too!

All in all, after I pre-ordered ORC, I still had the fear that the game would be mediocre at best. But just by playing a mere 40 minutes - I'm sold! It's not a game made for scares or a slow build up. It's a squad based game where team work counts, going up against deadly odds and high number of enemies with loads of ammo to chuck at them - all set in Raccoon City. It's extremely fun and addicting and I can't wait for March.

So do I, but they don't care. They know that loyal fans will blindly follow and will buy the new console which the game is exclusive to. It's all about the money. I just hope a new console brand doesn't launch any time soon. <.<
PS4, Xbox 720, PSP Vita, and 3DS each with their own exclusive RE games.

Translated Lone Wolf's official site profile.

This character's first appearance.
A helicopter pilot who belongs to the U.S.S. just like HUNK.
He not only has legendary helicopter flying techniques, but also very high survival capability in shooting battles and extreme situations.
"Lone Wolf" means that he is a lone wolf* however, why he is called by that name is wrapped in mystery.

* This "lone wolf" means "individualist possessing opinions that are not accepted by the majority." So yes, he appears to be either a loner or an asshole.

EDIT: Ada and HUNK translated.

Ada Wong

A female spy whom the rival company of the Umbrella Corporation sent to infiltrate Raccoon City for the capture of the G-Virus.
She has first-class combat skills with a calmness which is not perturbed in unusual situations.
She belongs to the organization, but, she has often been seen acting to achieve her own original objective.

HUNK

The leader of the U.S.S. Alpha Team which was dispatched in utmost secrecy for the capture of the G-Virus.
He has handled many difficult missions and survived doubtlessly, and has earned the nickname "Grim Reaper HUNK" from the perfection.
He appears to have a rival relationship with Nicholai of the U.B.C.S. from their battle techniques and mission success rate.
He is a man wrapped in mystery, but he has a strong will for accomplishing missions without hesitation.

The serious response about poles would probably be that he's proficient in melee combat, but the more humorous response... *whistles* No comment!

I like to pretend that on their off-time, Lone Wolf and HUNK moonlight as strippers.
(That's where their monikers had to come from, right? :jk: )

Because America is the most powerful country in the world, Britain pretty isn't even a sovereign country anymore and England doesn't even have devolution so they're also effectively a non-country. Plus for the past 70 years all they have done is attatch themselves to America like a remora to a shark. When people think of the English language, they don't think of some little tiny island monarchy, they think of America, the Hegemony of the Free World. Not to mention the majority of the members here aren't British, they're American. Compare these two:
America: 312,799,000 people / 3,794,101 sq mi
England: 51,446,000 people / 50,346 sq mi

Also lol @ "Britain created the language" XD, good one.

Anglo-Saxon settlers brought Old English to England. It evolved in England and became Middle English, and then later Early Modern English/Elizabethan English and finally Modern English following the Great Vowel Shift in the south of England in the 15th century. Ergo, what we now refer to as the "English language" arose exclusively from England. Americans speak it because of English colonization of America. Furthermore, most Caucasian Americans are actually of German descent. And if they're not German, they're of British descent (all of the founding fathers were British also).

Additionally, Britain is a sovereign unitary state. England does not require devolution as it is the central country in the state, while Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all have a degree of autonomous devolved power. Britain is also not a monarchy, the "Royal Family" has very little actual power and is almost exclusively decorative in this day and age.

In conclusion, shut the fuck up.

Thanks guys! I'm not really a big fan of Leon mostly because I think people freak out way too much about RE4 and how awesome he is. I liked him in RE2, but RE4 kinda messed it up for me.

Now all we need them to do is drop Resident Evil from the title and we're sorted.

I think that how this went down when Capcom was to choose the producer was they put Paul Anderson, a chimp and Romero in the same room sitting in a circle, and spun a bottle... Obviously the chimp and Romero lost. Shame, cause I think the chimp would've made a better producer than Anderson.
This or they spun a coin. Heads, it's Romero. Tails, it's the chimp. And if it somehow manages to land on it's side, Anderson gets it. Evidently, some strange feat of motion and velocity happened and the coin stopped on it's side.

Special thanks in advance to Starlisa and Eowenial for helping me write this review :D

Some of the RE official apparel caused some debate amongst us, namely whether or not some of the clothes were actually worth it. Most of the collection looked good but also commanded high prices. Well here I have my USS Jacket coming in at $160. So how is it? It's good and quite stylish! Now I'm not to well versed in reviewing clothing so I'll do my best to explain things.

When wearing it I didn't feel cold at all nor did I feel any wind coming through. All the pockets were secure, no holes of any kind. Also no tears or any sign of questionable quality. Now I'm a bit of a husky feller but I have to say it fits a bit snug but not problematic. It does feel sturdy and it holds together well - I'm not worried about getting it scuffy or rubbin' up against a tree and having it tear in half. However, for the price paid I wouldn't want to chance it! Ok, let's take a closer look....

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/accessories1.jpg

The jacket came nicely folded and zipped up with a few surprises inside. An official apparel tag, a 15th anniversary sticker, a USS pin, and a USS velcro patch (I'll explain later) 360 controller used for size comparison.

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/accessories2.jpg

These were the patches and pin I received from the ORC event a few months back. Just thought to share since these patches maybe used for the jacket or anything, and will also be coming with the ORC game.

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/pincomparison.jpg

The pin on the left came with the jacket. Much smaller and lacking white compared to the pin from the event.

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/jacketfront.jpg

The jacket itself feels moderately light. By that I mean it's not heavy at all. It's something that can be worn in any season I say. Today it happened to be freezing and it did keep me warm well enough but not as much as a sweater would have. There are also 5 pockets, four of which you can see in the front. The four front pockets are all secured by a single button each. No side pockets.

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/Jacketinside.jpg

Here's the inner fabric of the jacket and the side pocket. The inner fabric is nice and very light.

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/tag1.jpg

A close up of the size tag. It's kind of blurry but it reads "High Quality Gear" and "Made in Pakistan"

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/insidepocket.jpg

Close up of the 5th and inner pocket, it's got a particular tag stitched to it...

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/insidepockettag.jpg

Close up of the inner pocket tag

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/lowerinsidetags.jpg

More tags, Capcom and Ehrgeizlabs. There's another Ehrgeizlabs tag that looks more like a button by one of the pockets. It's so small the camera couldn't even focus on it. Their logo reminds me of Tricell a little.

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/pocketfit.jpg

The pockets are surprisingly deep and hold together well. They're even big enough for Donkey Kong!

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/back.jpg

Back view

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/buttoncloseup.jpg

Close up of one of the buttons, it's got some nice little stars on it.

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/zipper1.jpg

Here are the zippers, which work great and hold together nice and tight. The left zipper happens to be inside a flap that covers it (not sure if I explained that right) No snags or tugs when zipping.

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/zipper2.jpg

The top of the right zipper has a little "hood"

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/Velcro1.jpg

The right breast actually has a removable/interchangeable tag via velcro. The tags stay on very well, I never have to worry if it's loose or falling off. Nor do I worry about ripping it right off the jacket itself, though I was always careful when trying.

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/velcro2.jpg

So the jacket came with two tags. The official site, if I remember correctly, only shows the USS tag.

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/velcro3.jpg

This is the tag that came attached to the jacket by default. It's hard to see but it reads
"Umbrella Security Service"

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/sleeve2.jpg

Though snug in the body region the sleeves are alright, sometimes they seem a little long. Or maybe it's just me.

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/sleeve1.jpg

Also there are buttons.

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/shoulder.jpg

Buttons, buttons, so many of them! Even the shoulder straps can be unbuttoned if you wish.

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/logosizecomparison.jpg

The USS logo is, I'm not sure how to describe it, printed on the sleeve? As far as I can tell, you cannot scratch it off or worry about it snagging somewhere. Also I thought I'd show the size comparison to the patch.

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/wearingside.jpg

http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x463/wrathcomics/collar.jpg

There are a few little details here and there, like this red tip of the collar.

Well that about does it! So to recap, I have no issues with the jacket, except for being a tad snug. The velcro tags/patches where something I didn't expect. Makes me wonder what the BSAA jacket will have instead. $160 was a steep price for sure but as a fan it's both expected and worth it. I have no regrets of the purchase but I am sometimes keeping watch to ensure nothing bad happens to it. Keep in mind this review is written only after having the jacket for just three days. But so far so good! Hope you all found this at least a little helpful!

NoHopeLeft is a blog-style website similar to the Kijuju blog for Biohazard 5. Owned by Capcom, the China theme of the website coincides with previous rumors about the setting of Biohazard 6. Moreover, the blog emphasizes January 19 as an important date, which coincides with Resident Evil events in San Francisco on the 19th and in Tokyo on January 20 .

Look forward to it, assuming this is all not a huge coincidence. Note that no announcement is actually confirmed at this time.

Thanks to The Sixth Axis for breaking the news on the domain's owner.

I think it affects other countries because this could easily lead to other countries following the bandwagon. It's really up to US Citizens to contact their state's Reps and tell them we won't vote or support them in future elections (since they'll only care about money, anyway).

How would it affect Biohazians? Well, this site could go down, easily. Someone could complain that it goes against copyright because it links to copyrighted content. A majority of social media sites (Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Youtube, etc) would be finished. No more blogs because someone commented and posted a link, site was reported, blog taken down. Basically, any site can be taken down at any time.

Specter-Redfield, it's not about piracy, it's about the freedom to access information. Do you want your internet usage to be easily monitored by your ISP, and have it shut off, because they think you are accessing copyrighted information? The government will just have wayyyy too much power to do crazy things with your access only... and it'll be legal.

My COD the wait is excruciating! I just had a horrible thought... what if Chris's partner is Sheva again!? D:

Fixed that for you, since you've got the Barry avatar and all. Lmao. :)

Anyway, somehow I doubt it's Sheva. Still, better her than some random new asshat I guess.
OH! Why thank you for fixing that for me :D

And I know Sheva won't be in it. I just have terrible thoughts sometimes. HOH MY COD! What IS this!?

ha Well glad I could inspire you, Lone Wolf!!!

Ok, here's my review for the Resident Evil 15th Anniversary USS jacket

I purchased the jacket on Wednesday and it was delivered via FedEx on Friday afternoon. So no worries if it's a legit site. Arrived in a bag inside of another bag with a USS pin and sticker.
http://www.ambitiouslove.net/blog/img/2012/01jan/012112/01.jpg

I ordered a XS, and it's only available in men's sizes. It's a medium weight jacket that is reminiscent of traditional military style clothing. It's about 70 degrees today, so yeah, a little hot but it would be nice for Fall days :) The material seems durable enough. I like the small features like below--
http://www.ambitiouslove.net/blog/img/2012/01jan/012112/02.jpg
Fabric set so the zipper doesn't scratch your neck/under your chin. The text on the patch and on the arm seem to be sublimated (heat pressed), so it should last awhile. It seems to be well made.

http://www.ambitiouslove.net/blog/img/2012/01jan/012112/03.jpg
Here's HUNK in the bottom large pocket and my own hand for comparison. It's kind of big for me.

http://www.ambitiouslove.net/blog/img/2012/01jan/012112/04.jpg
Details inside the jacket (I kept all the labels, etc on since I'm on the fence if I will return it or not). The main inside of the jacket is the same material as the front, but the sleeves are like a polyester blend. I like the added comfort touch, but I worry about the polyester lining coming apart from the main jacket after some wear and washes. There's a snap (I guess for extra help?) to hang up the jacket.

Alright, here's my biggest worries:
http://www.ambitiouslove.net/blog/img/2012/01jan/012112/05.jpg
I was so-so on the back of the jacket when I saw it on the website. Seeing it in person... I am really not liking it. I wish the stretch wasn't there, I think it looks a little ridiculous. I guess it's there to make the jacket appear more fitted? I was thinking of taking it off but I don't want to mess up the entire jacket.

I know this is a men's jacket. I checked the measurements before purchasing. But the sleeves...
http://www.ambitiouslove.net/blog/img/2012/01jan/012112/06.jpg
Are very, wide. Like 2.5 of my arms. For the wrists, I put the snap into the smallest one, but it's still baggy. I guess if you are a muscular short man, this would fit better xD

Time for the self-pics :P Please excuse my messiness, not enough caffeine yet to up my power level.
http://www.ambitiouslove.net/blog/img/2012/01jan/012112/07.jpg
Ok, stats on me: I'm female, 5'2, 100lbs. I have wide shoulders. I'm not muscular, so I have a slim body type. The middle of the jacket isn't bad. I could wear a cardigan or something over a shirt and the jacket wouldn't look bulky.

These long sleeves...
http://www.ambitiouslove.net/blog/img/2012/01jan/012112/08.jpg
This is how the sleeves fit on me when extended.

http://www.ambitiouslove.net/blog/img/2012/01jan/012112/09.jpg
The USS logo hits my elbow :( I don't know it it's supposed to do that. But I love the emblem.

http://www.ambitiouslove.net/blog/img/2012/01jan/012112/10.jpg
I like the style of the jacket. But the shoulders are much too wide for me. The sleeves make it even bulkier.

http://www.ambitiouslove.net/blog/img/2012/01jan/012112/11.jpg
I don't know... what do you think? (oh god mom jeans)

http://www.ambitiouslove.net/blog/img/2012/01jan/012112/12.jpg
Side pose~ I took some back shots but they looked bad, so sorry, I can't post those xD

Final thoughts: It's a nice jacket, but I don't know if I can wear this, purely because it doesn't fit me well and that awful back waist thing. XS is the smallest size they offer and with the material, I don't think it will shrink very much after washing to fit better. It's a fun fan item, but Do I think it's worth $149.00 plus $11.65 US shipping? Sorry, but for me, the answer is No .

Maybe $75-100 yes, but besides from being a regular military jacket with a few fabric Resident Evil labels and 1 heat set USS emblem.... it's kind of not so awesome to me in person. I have a few days to think it over more, though :)

Why revive such an old thread?

People have every right not to like Walking Boob's design, it's ridiculous and over the top. That absolutely doesn't mean people won't enjoy the game. Take a chill pill.

MOD EDIT: This is correct. Dominic please no bumping of old news threads.
