It all comes down to personal preference. Each game has its music made to fit its setting and what's going on in it. The thing is that the music in RE2 fits the environments, the tragedy and the horror in it extremely well, specially in some areas.

Apart from music. RE2 was the first iv'e played in the series. Right after that i immediately jumped into RE1 and even tho RE2 had more of everything, i was genuinely more afraid to open doors in the original than i was in 2. I still haven't figured out why. It was almost like that game was cursed or something.

The original was more terrifying because it had less of everything. I love RE2, but the game starts out swarming you with so many zombies that by the time you get to the RPD a single zombie is barely a threat. The game took place amidst a city in chaos, whereas the isolation of the original is what made it spookier.

Just my two cents.

Guys, I had a question.

So in the RE2 REMAKE confirmation video there's music playing in the background. It sounds similar in instrumentation to the music in RE2 but I don't remember that particular track in the game. Can someone point me to the track and what it is? Maybe I'm wrong...

I don't think this specific track is in the game but it definitely sounds like some of the ost.

Knowing it's not from the actual game it makes you wonder why no one has talked about it. It can't be a remake of 2 track because it feels very 90s in sound unless that's there goal. Maybe an unused track?

It makes me wonder if Japan has had its own in game tracks for 20+ years and foreign regions get a mixed cut of the final version.

Interesting...

Yeah 2 and original / remake have the most memorable tracks.

5 ost is good for sure, solid even. But not on par with those two.
