QFT. Seriously, when I saw that everybody returned but Jill in Extinction I was all "lolwut?" And now Chris and Claire aren't going to be in Retribution. Somehow they get captured between the 1 second gap between Afterlife and Retribution.

As idiotic as it is for Chris, Claire and K-Mart to disappear for no reason during the siege, it would be even more dumber if they were played by different actors in the opening ala Mortal Kombat: Annihalation. Hopefully the scene was shot during the filming of Afterlife. The trailer clearly showed the Arcadia being attacked.

I'm sorry, how do they justify bringing back Michelle Rodriguez? Because she showed interest again? I just looked at IMDB, RAIN again? No Claire or Chris listed there? What's going on here?

Think it's because Anderson ran out of ideas and just decided to bring old characters back by cloning, and since Rain is pretty much loved by the movie fanbase, she was the first one they had to get back. Of course they also got One (the highlight of the laser scene of the first movie), and Carlos who pretty much was Alice's ''love interest.''

I had a hunch this would be either a filler movie (a la Afterlife, again) or a twist movie (a la Saw), and turns out it is apparently the latter. It's the only thing a sequel is left to be if it doesn't finish an already overbeaten storyline like this one.

Im going to guess all the past characters that worked for umbrella were actually clones and alice finds the originals in cryo or something stupid like that.
