Aye, noticed. That was just dumb.

Dev 1: I can't believe they made such a great trailer for our game!
Dev 2: I know right. Brilliant.
Dev 1: Who are those people they used though?
Dev 2: I dunno. Do you know?
Dev 1: Nah. I don't.
Dev 2: Ahh.
Dev 1: ...
Dev 2: ...
Dev 1: Think people are expecting them to be in the game then?
Dev 2: After that. Yeah, probably.
Dev 1: Hmm.
Dev 2: Hmm.
Dev 1: ...
Dev 2: ...
Dev 1: Shit.
Dev 2: Yeah.

Not just that, but the entire game was completely underwhelming. The emotion conveyed in the trailer was completely absent in the game. TBF I had only reached the 3rd Act, but at that point I felt I had seen and played enough to right it off as an overall failure of a Zombie and First-Person Adventure title.

This game is what it is. I admit, the trailer is beyond misleading and I don't blame anyone for disliking it based on that alone. However if you can accept what type of game it is, I think it's a ton of fun. The world is pretty huge and there is a ton to do. The game is especially fun online with other players. It's a guilty pleasure of sorts, though I honestly enjoyed it more than DR2.

I know this sounds really weird, but I feel like I would have enjoyed it if it wasn't first person. I just feel like I have more control of the gameplay- why? I don't know, I'm weird. But can you give me your input of how (despite the obvious) it was different from DR2? Because I really wanted to play it lately, despite hating the time limits given in the game. That is, if you read this. lol

One very very big difference: The timer.

I absolutely hated the timer in DR2, it ruined the game for me. I need to play Dead Island again.

Totally agree, the game is pretty good I think. It's just not what people thought it would be.

I'm sorry to get off topic, but that is suuuuuuch a dumb reason to not like Dead Rising.

Everything in that game is optional. Everything. If you want to ignore the timer that always gives you half an hour to do simple tasks, then do so. If you want to play through the main story, do. You don't have to do everything.

I could understand complaining about it in the first dead rising where it was way easier to run out of time on things, but DR2? Come on.

I had so much fun with Dead Island after waiting for the patch updates. I'm finishing up the Ryder White DLC right now. There's so much to do and so much to craft. I like that guns don't have that much power compared to melee weapons. Never played it online, but I keep hearing "Borderlands with zombies".

BTW the people in the trailer are in the hotel during the prologue. I think the husband and wife are holding hands on the ground. I'm guessing you're to assume that trailer happened between Sam B's performance and before you wake up to meet the lifeguard with the awful face tat.

They just said on their FB it's going to be available on Origin, if anyone's into that.

The Dead Arena DLC is the most fun you can have on this game. Gather some friends and it's a lot of fun. Playing Dead Arena solo works too, but it gets repetitive not having others around with you. It's basically survival mode, think Call Of Duty's zombies and you have the basic premise of Dead Arena. It also puts you on the fast track to gaining experience and getting all sorts of new weapons. I recommend attempting this mode when you've reached at least level 20 or 25. Because with each level you survive, the zombies level up steadily.

The game itself is ok, but not something I enjoyed repeatedly playing through for the sake of leveling up. I get a kick out of helping friends though. I think I am level 54 (haven't gone back there in a long while), so helping out friends that just got the game makes things fun for me. Just killing every zombie in one slice is pure entertainment as I watch my friend struggle to kill one. Though a new feature was added that would adjust zombies to my level no matter whose game I get into, but that would take the fun away so I did not activate it.

Dissapointing. The first half set up a great open world zombie game, the beach and town areas. Then the next scenarios didn't bother to add anything new and it was a chore to finish....
