I really don't know who is more of a legend for RE.

Sugimura wrote the scenarios for:

Resident Evil 2

Resident Evil Survivor

Resident Evil Zero

Resident Evil Code Veronica

Resident Evil Dead Aim

What's interesting is he is listed as uncredited for Resident Evil 4 before it got scrapped, I wonder if this was for the Castle version we saw or Devil May Cry?

Shinji is the creator and director of Resident Evil and producer of RE 2 and 3 as well as Director for RE 4.

It's hard to say that Shinji isn't more of a legend as without him there would've been no RE but at the same time would we have Resident Evil today if it wasn't for what Sugimura did with the story?

I don't know... Maybe I should have named the title of this post Flagship vs Clover Studios (as founded by Mikami during RE 4) but anyways, golden eras they were for sure , the golden years.

Fast forward to present day one of them is making phony lame wannabe Resident Evil games while the other has long since passed away

Shinji Mikami is more of a legend and will be remembered more from Resident Evil. That said, Sugimura's a legend in his own right and a masterful storyteller for RE2 and Code Veronica by themselves.

I know man... I know... Mikami created the shit.

But Sugimura saved it! When 1.5 was scrapped and RE was about to tank he comes in and fuckin creates wonders starting with Claire fuckin Redfield!

Not arguing, just saying.

Little upset that Capcom didn't respect him enough to continue his storyline.

For example, they could've had Kennedy be from US-Stratcom.

Anyways, the yesteryears are gone, and my precious Resident Evil isn't what it once was.
But I still love it the same.

Sugimura wrote every version of BIO4 except for the released one.

Mikami only directly worked on 1, 4 and remake.

All the pre-released versions looked infinitely more interesting. Oh well :/
