I suppose ORC will give off the gameplay feel of over the shoulder movement and how it's effective against slow zombies. But in that game, you're blasting away hordes. Lost in Nightmares was a nice touch with rarely running into monsters like in the old games. REmake worked so well because it used so many elements from the original and kept things fresh by overhauling the puzzles and adding more. There's going to plenty of action in ORC, but keep the remake games more true to the originals with the survival horror aspect.

Besides the general plot, alot of the elements would have to be carried over from RE2 and RE3 over to the REmake such as the zapping system and the seperate scenarios that tied together with Sherry becoming infected with the G-Virus or not. Most importantly, the characters would have to be completely solo in majority of the games and not be concerned with Ada or Carlos' health and ammo whenever they accompany you. That kind of worked in Revelations. Combining the two into one game is a great idea but keep the canon intact and have the characters go different paths.

If there was any and it loosely followed the games progression system, I'd say merge Biohazard 2 and 3 into a single title considering the timeline. Would at least make the game fresh.

That was my original thought if they ever brought this about. Since the two games are intertwined and have back and forth moments between the two, they could actually have one fluid game going along with the timeline.

I've been wanting for a Remake of this for a long time. Instead we get teased in Darkside Chronicles and bits in Resident Evil Degeneration. I pitched the idea on Capcom Unity in the "Ask Capcom" section (where they mostly tell you nothing apart from what you can find doing your own research) and received a "It's a good idea." But that's about it.

I've given up on asking and hoping for this. The series will keep pushing forward and not look back.

We've seen what Capcom can do with remakes, so every RE fan would be all for a RE2/3 remake. However, I'd rather them fully concentrate on RE6 & Damnation first.
Then they can release Biohazard Revival: Volume 2~ REmake, Zero, & dare I say it Outbreak.
Only good numbers can convince Capcom to move forward (or ironically backwards at the same time) with a survival horror remake.
One can dream *-*

I don't think Capcom is necessarily breaking their backs over Damnation more so than RE6. Though I do agree they should focus on current projects. I doubt they'll be releasing any remakes though.

Then its just me hoping Damnation heavily ties into RE6.
Would generate more hype & interest if it did...

In regards to RE2/3 remakes:
Capcom has a nack for re-releasing titles fans aren't really asking for.
by this logic, a RE2/3 remake has a good amount of hope, since more fans want Outbreak?
just food for thought.

As much as almost every RE fan wants it, there is no way Capcom would ever release a remake of RE2/RE3 in the same vein as the GCN remake of the original. They view the "old survival horror style" (pre-rendered backgrounds, odd camera angles, etc.) as regression, and they know it wouldn't sell as much as the action crap that they've released as of late.

If Code Veronica X HD can have decent sales, that shows theres still a market for the old school style Resident Evil games. They could release a remake as a download only title and I'd be happy with that.

Found this in my online wandering. I know it's in regards to future titles taking on characteristics of classic games, but it's the last line that hooks me.

"Over on the Capcom Unity forums, Capcom VP Christian Svensson recently made a few interesting comments in response to some fan questions. It may lead someone to believe that a new, old-school style Resident Evil game is in the works.

This is probably a better question for Kawata or Kobayashi, however to throw in my [two cents] Revelations (or perhaps future titles that resemble Revs) is probably the closest RE classic purists are going to get.

We won’t forget you guys though…but I can’t tell you how or why yet.
