Both Irons and Annette first asked Claire what her name was but then retract their question a second later. Even back when I first played RE2, I always wondered if Claire mentioning her last name would mean a bullet to her head if she said it to the wrong person particularly Irons and Annette. Given that Claire did get files that would give her a clear warning on some people, she would definitely be cautious. I suppose going by an alias would be a safe bet if Irons and Annette insisted on knowing Claire's name. The point was kind of moot on Rockfort Island as Alfred and Wesker knew who she was and her relation to Chris. But in Raccoon City, it might have been more riskier.

I'm sure Irons would've reacted surprised, since he and Chris had some fuss about Umbrella. Hell, I even think it would've been an awesome dialogue.

Yeah i think if she gave a last name,Irons would've stuffed her. She would've been part of his collection.

Irons trying to stuff (in whatever way) Claire due to the frustrations caused by Chris would have been pretty epic and added a bit more classical horror to BH2.

Irons probably had his little macabre collection of stuffed women in lifelike poses in some secret room that is inaccessible to the player or he might have had his collection in his home basement. You have to wonder where he stashed Miss Warren's body since it is likely Irons was stuffing her while Claire was wondering around before returning. If there is to be a REmake 2, hopefully Irons' little collection room would be accessible where entry would be mandatory to grab a key or a puzzle piece. That would really amp up the creepiness like REmake 1 did with Lisa's Trevor's room.

As for Annette, she was most cetainly paranoid and borderline psychotic in the original game and she was Irons' POC when it came to dealing with the S.T.A.R.S. Sherry's safety was definitely what kept Annette from pulling the trigger. Things definitely would have gotten really ugly for Claire if she even mentioned her last name since Chris was on Umbrella's radar at the time.

THIS that would have been some heated shit. i would have loved to see that bit of drama. too bad :/ what would have been golden.

Do you really blame Annette though I mean her daughter is wandering around in a zombie infested city and her husband is his own creation, I think if I was Annette I would have gone borderline psychotic too.
