I play outbreak on a emulator and have been for a year I can help you. Hmm the text isn't visible, but, its the same as a normal ps2 just go to your real ps2 and take pics or memorize it then input it in the emulator were its invisible.

I've managed to setup a network config but my DNAS loads to 40% then hangs. If I hold in start I get the error 612.

In the mean time I ponder the streets of Google for answers, but I WILL play this game online!

You have to patch the game, http://www.outbreakjpn.blogspot.com/. Follow the guide on how to patch the games to pass the DNAS also you gotta pay to get on the Jpn severs.

I had already patched the DNAS and my previous error was actually error 611, not 612.
"-611 NET_DNS_HOST_NOT_FOUND
The DNS resolver did not recognize the DNAS server host name. "DNAS Error (-611) A network error has occurred." Please double-check your network connection and/or network configuration. "

I'm pretty sure all my network settings are correct but there seems to be a fault somewhere.

So I'm pretty stumped =/

Hmm that's strange, make sure your not using a wifi connection because wifi doesn't work with the plugin

Sorry, I researchet from net for how to play online whit a PS2 emulator and I didn't find anything.
And the DNS error maybe because a conflit between the DNS configured in PS2 network settings and the DNS from PC. I read this in any site from the web. You neet to configure the DNS manually whit the same DNS from PC. You can see the DNS of your PC opening the prompt command (cmd.exe) and digit ipconfig. You will see the DNS of your connection. You also can try on network connections.

I had already did everything you guys mentioned. I manually setup my network config, opened ports, patched the DNAS, anything I could think of but It still hanged on 40% of the DNAS reading or w/e. I was reading through another forum and it I was reading about a problem Yama had with her actual PS2, not an emulator. Turned out all I had to do was reset my router. Why... I don't know...

...BUT IT WORKED! So the past 3 days I had everything correct, I just had to reset my router! RAGE!

Sorted my KDDI account, just gotta get my Outbreak ID when I log on later today (:
