Nah the developers have said this is the last of the DLC for RE5.

Agreed. Whilst the higher ups in the development chain bang heads with eachother brainstorming for the next title, who they want in charge of what etc, i don't think it does any harm for the guys responsible for coding the game to come up with stuff like this.

If this stuff was intended to be part of the game originally like they're telling us, i don't think it will have any impact on Resident Evil 6 since it's more than likely not even off the drawing board yet whilst all the planning goes ahead.

I don't think that's set on stone though, if these perform well sales-wise we could see a few mercenaries maps being added, but if not I wouldn't mind since what we are getting adds a ton of replayability already.

Rod,

I agree with what you say, if the Gold edition sells well, more than likely we'll see more.

Resident Evil is still a big cash cow for Capcom. They have already said it could be 4-8 years until the next installment of RE's main game. Darkside Chronicles is underachieving, so if the DLC's exceeding selling expectations, I'm sure we'd see more in some form in the future, just to keep interest in the series and anticipation building for the next game and keep money in the bank in the meantime.

I won't hold my breath on anything though, and trust me I'm more than excited enough with what we are currently getting, it definately will force me to reevaluate my stance of RE 5 if the DLC can live up to our high expectations.

^ Exactly. sales = more production, its a constant. If the DLC sells enough that the head office makes cash, and thinks that its still a valuable asset ( Re5) they will continue to until they feel its hollowed out, or they need a focused team for the next installment.

I would love to see some mercenaries characters come out..we now know Capcom is willing to create more with their own respective melee's and VA's, so its obviously something they can repeat if needed. I would love to have new characters come out every now and then, it would defiantly keep me coming back to the game over and over, this isn't fallout 3 where the single player can take huge globs of time, so mercenaries is an incredibly fun asset and i hope they delve into it deeply.

Look at the bottom of Rebecca's picture.

10/10/9/9.

That's the score for the original Biohazard 5 from Famitsu from last year.

Where did they say this was the last of the DLC? Last I heard they said there 'will' be more episodes. If you could provide a link I'd be appreciative.

Sure Stu isn't the kind of guy who talks without a source, but link or not I wouldn't trust developers that much... I'm not saying that they were lying, but ehi that's Capcom...nothing is sure, everything is possible.

I wouldn't mind if there were more episodes at all. I'll try and find a link, not finding anything right now but i know it's what i read somewhere. In the meantime i've thrown it up on Unity as well to speed things along.
