Capcom has announced Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Gold Edition, which contains all previously released and future DLC for the game. One of those is called End of Zoe, a completely new side story set after the events in the main game. Not A Hero, the free DLC featuring Chirs Redfield, will still be needed to be downloaded for all editions of the game.

The price has been revealed to be $49.99 for both digital and retail versions, and it's set to release at December 12th in the US.

In other news, the Resident Evil Revelations Switch collection will be released on November 28th. The Switch versions contain a number of changes to both games, which you can see them all here. Revelations 2 needs to be downloaded in all verisons.

I think we all knew this "Definitive Gold Edition" was coming. I know I was holding off for it. Now I just have to wait for that edition to drop to $20 bucks or so, and then I'll pick it up.

I can't help but feel bad for all the early adopters though. Even though we knew this was coming it seems like a huge slap in the face to release this less than 1 year after Resident Evil 7's original launch date.

Seems like this would only encourage others to hold off on buying new games in the franchise at launch in the future and just wait for the inevitable "gold" edition. It's only 11 months later for christsakes!

And I say that as someone who is going to benefit from this.

Just speculation.....but I wonder if the initial sales of 7 had anything to do with this? Perhaps the "Gold" edition originally had plans to come out much later, but was pushed up because Capcom wasn't happy with the game's initial sales figures? I'm just spitballing here. Nothing to base that off of.

The whole thing is very odd.

Well, life goes on :lol:
It would've been cool to see some brand new RE game being announced but being a fan of this series requires patience. We all know that RE2 Remake is going to be shown next year so, the wait goes on.
Also, if we are lucky enough, we might even get RE2 and REV3 at the same year.
We already had RE7 and Vendetta in 2017.

Capcom's social media shared a short "Previously on" video showing Resident Evil 4. Either RE4 for Nintendo Switch or the next Revelations game may be set around that time? Or maybe it means nothing at all!

I'd be over the moon if Konami announced a new Silent Hill game tomorrow, but that's a different matter!

As for this Gold Edition: I will likely not buy it since I can get all the DLC downloaded. For first time buyers, I'd say this is the one to go for, but the rest of us may not be willing to shell out more cash, when Not a Hero is being giving to us absolutely free, and End of Zoe is supposedly only around $15 or less.
