I reckon RE6 should use the former cast, as RE has a lot of characters as it is. Instead of introducing new characters, why not use an old character that hasn't been used much? (Such as Carlos Oliveira, Billy Coen, Rebecca Chambers, Barry Burton, etc.)

I think we should bring back some of the characters from previous main titles that mostly had supporting roles or didn't get much attention to main roles and make them the main characters.
One of these characters would be Rebecca Chambers, she was main role in zero and supporting role in the original, but she doesn't appear in any main story lines besides those two. She should return as a main controllable character as a major part in the main story.
Also Barry Burton for sure. He only appeared as a supporting character (unless you count RE Gaiden).
I think Rebecca and Barry should definitely return as main characters. Meanwhile some new characters should appear in supporting roles. Maybe perhaps some appearances from other characters such as Claire, Chris, Jill or Leon.

MOST OF ALL, Sherry Birkin should return and play a major part in the story. She has been off the grid since RE2 and she would be about 25 years old by now. I would like to know where she is at now, and what she has been doing/what has happened in her life between 1998 and now. I also want to see what she became and how she changed as a person.

I think the game should go back to Leon personally, or Claire. Somehow get her mixed up in it again. Thats how its always been. RE1 - Chris/Jill, RE2- Leon/Claire, RE3- Jill, RECVX - Claire, RE4 - Leon, RE5 - Chris. I predict a pattern here...

I would like to see a mix up of the cast. We've had Chris and Claire, what about Leon and Jill? Or... Ada and Chris? Would make for a nice change.

I want new characters.

I really think Claire (or Rebecca) will get this title, just a hunch. Never had a female lead in a new school RE yet. Idk if I agree with a new character for a numeric RE entry. Id be fine if it was a side game like CVX or REV tho.
Also, Leon and Jill together is a good idea, I never thought of that one!

Well, I don't really mind having some new or returning characters in a game, so as long as they are appealing to myself rather than annoying. I'm enjoying this "who's who?" way of things. It'd be great to have Leon with Ark just cos he sent Ark to Sheena Island, but I guess that's neither here nor there. But I'd love to see all past characters back for the final stand still against the worst of the biohazards. Like for one gigantic fight where they die heroic instead of always making it out alive. Kinda like in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer finale, where Xander's gf dies and he applauded her for doing the right (but stupid) decision for her friends...

All I know is, that I want this game to be super long, so there are many opportunities to set up cameos from various characters along the way. Still wish Ada would be the star of the show, but eventually it will happen! Mark my words. I wouldn't mind a Chris/Leon team up or ala RE2 Leon A/ Chris B type of game again.

I want new characters that actually stick around for later entries and are relevant to the series' story. No more Billy Coens, Sherry Birkins or Sheva Alomars.

If they use the current cast, I want Capcom to use them in different ways: how about two girls? Or two guys? Claire + Jill for example. Or...better yet, just one guy or girl alone like in the past. No more co-op shit, if they want to use it, do it for side modes or Mercenaries only.
