This shouldnt even be a question, solo play. But they should go the Uncharted 2 route and allow co-op in a separate mode.

Capcom enjoyed mediocre success with forced co-op, so you think that we're all going to be living with it in Resident Evil for the foreseeable future?

No.

Didn't RE5 outsell RE4? How is that mediocre success? Or did I hear wrong?

Even coming close to 4's sell amounts is FAR from mediocre.

I was talking from a gameplay mechanic, i'm well aware of RE5's success.

Quite snide for someone who whines when people take potshots at Outbreak out of the blue don't you think?

RE5 sold a lot, but don't forget that a great amount of copies has been sold only thanks to the huge RE5 marketing campaign by Capcom.

Stu isn't that wrong, RE5 has has been heavily criticized because its single player forced coop and many other reasons, the forced co-op works pretty well only if online with a friend, but it sucks if offline in single player mode.
Monster sales, yes, but "slow" score on Metacritic, the truth is that RE5 is inferior to many of its predecessors regardless of its sales data.

Glasses, didn't you hear? Foxy hasn't heard of and doesn't know what Metacritic does  So you can't go "there" unfortunately!

I'm sorry if I think one review site doesn't matter much, no matter what it's one companies opinion like I said before.

And you're one to talk about snide, that may as well be your middle name these days. I wasn't being rude in the slightest, only questioning what you meant. Simply saying "I meant from a gameplay standpoint" or whatever is more then enough to get your point across instead of having the unnecessary sarcastic comments. I grow tired of your constant remarks, especially when they don't even make proper sense like that post didn't.

Seriously, bringing up Outbreak again? I don't bring up how crap I think Re4 is in every last discussion, get new material man.

hahaha! Third time you need to be told to look into what Metacritic is before talking about it. Seriously, stop digging your hole and look into it.

Solo mode for the main story with a second campaign of short "scenarios" where the player can play co-op

However I'm not sure 100% about this. For example Resident Evil Zero was plenty scary with a AI partner. It actually made you feel so alone when you had to split up.
