I didn't notice much of a difference between the 2 versions honestly, other than a washed out look to some of the shadows on Playstation. Frame rate doesn't seem like an issue to me on PS3, I saw no difference. I've played the hell out of RE5 on both systems... though, I am playing on an SD T.V, so I assume that makes a big difference when nit picking the 2 versions.

It's a gorgeous game no matter the platform you play it on.

I actually do like the PS3 version better overall because of the controller and seemingly crisper response (ironic given the less stable frame rate). Not to mention the lack of tearing which is pretty bad on 360 compared to other MT Framework games. Pre patch 1.02 on PS3 (original version), the frame rate was definitely an issue in some areas but it's good afterwards. Definitely not as consistent as the 360 (whenever that version tears, there is slowdown on PS3)

The main difference between the two that's readily apparent is the AA solution. The QAA is basically what's responsible for the "washed out" look on PS3; it's essentially 2X MSAA plus a blur filter. Less jaggies than 360, sure, but it definitely hurt the IQ. Horrible choice. LiN and DE is a wash other than the shadow resolution. The other noteworthy difference is the inferior water shader in the main area of the swamps.

Either console version is fine but given the quality of the PC version, if you have a choice, go with that. It's incredible.

Capcom's last MT Framework effort with a third person shooter (LP2), did show far more parity (IQ, effects, gamma levels, etc. all identical) but there were still differences with setup. It's tearing vs frame rate drops. I honestly have no faith in Capcom making any efforts for parity with RE6, which is a shame given Platinum's much smaller team gave us just that with Vanquish.

The only problem I have with the PS3 controller is a less accurate pivot step when altering the camera to gain a faster turn radius. Likely doesn't matter to most, but I cared. Especially in Versus or Mercs.

Cool, I notice characters and enemies blood spatters are more colorful. I know what you mean by "washed out" on the PS3 version. LIN'S anyone?
