Hopefully the game does the RE name some justice, and it's not gonna just end up being pathetic. I could do without this just being another bland big brand cash-in shooting game, being created for the sake of it. RE should be known for being much more than that.

Killing off old characters also seems kinda ridiculous to a high degree, since it does not truly happen, and it would just be like leaving you with a dropped jaw and a "WTF?" mindset or something. But like you says, that's obviously not gonna be canon if they get wiped out. Perhaps this game is like a dark vision of what it would be like if someone rewrote history as it happened. And that part seems kind of dark to me. So that would be interesting, since RE should be dark and scary and stuff, and not just a mindless shoot everything to kill title. Left 4 Dead is the game for you then! RE needs to stay a mature game for true gamers who wanna be scared outta their wits.
