The official Biohazard 5 Alternative Edition website was updated today with a new entry about The Mercenaries Reunion in the "Director's Note" blog. Following that, the Extra Figures section has opened and reveals that the player needs to complete certain tasks in the game for these to be unlocked.

Direct feed pictures showing Rebecca and Barry in The Mercenaries Reunion and a new wallpaper featuring Josh, Excella, Rebecca and Barry are available in the official japanese website. Also, the three new official avatars can now be selected from the 'Biohaze Rebirth' category.

Theme 06: The Mercenaries Reunion

"The Mercenaries" was originally a Biohazard 4 bonus after beating the game. It was well received by everyone and was very attractive because it was non stop action against enemies to score points. Biohazard 5 added to it the Duo mode that combines the elements of cooperative play.

"The Mercenaries" has another major advantaje, which is that we can freely add characters to it without worrying about conflicts with the main story. That's why we were able to add characters beyond Resident Evil 5 to it.

Two of these new additions are fan favorites Rebecca, the heroine in Resident Evil 0, and Barry who was last seen at the very end of Resident Evil 3. This may have come as a big surprise to all the Biohazard fans, especially those who like Barry (he has kept you waiting for a long time!), and why not Rebecca or even Excella fans.

So we can expect that we can later maybe even play with, let's say.. Claire, Ada and characters like that?

For some reasons, i don't think capcom goin to ever put leon and ada with chris and jill.... duno why tho lol
and well i want more merc maps more than more characters right now, because since we have 8 new characters to play so yeah...
oh i got a question and it might be a stupid question, are we only allow to pick those new characters to play or can we pick the old characters as well? like Chris BSAA?

Its clear that if Leon and Ada would be added, that they would blow Chris and Jill out of the water with their sheer awesomeness. Therefore it would be counter productive for the game, since it's focus is on the original pair.

I'd love it if RE4 Leon was added to Versus so I could pick BSAA Chris and go nuts haymakering the shit out his stupid ass and anyone who picks him all over the damn map. It'd certainly brighten up my day.
