Oh God, yes he/she did say it. He must be one of those 'blonde hair and pale skin is the most beautiful" type of thinkers. I think all shades are beautiful in their own way, but you gotta admit... Jill's skin makes her look as if she's dead.

Maybe it's HIS/HER opinion of preferable skin tone. I'm not as attracted to black girls as I am white girls because it's just my preference. Besides...maybe he/she is in to dead people, in reference to Dream Phoenix's statement.

I don't think him stating his prefers a skin color is a problem, especially when right preceding that comment, he mentioned "Sheva's face is prettier" which would destroy any hope of trying to play the race card. I prefer white people and people with tan or light brown skin as far as my attractions go. I don't particularily find 'dark' black people attractive (although there are exceptions). Doesn't mean I think white skin = superior to dark. Hell, I know black people who are solely into white people and vice versa.

Everyone has their own personal preferences. Just because you 'prefer' a certain skin color in terms of attraction doesn't mean you're on a superiority complex about your skin color.

So let's not jump the gun here and make something out of nothing please.

In regards to race, (I some how figured their race would be brought up, simply because people are going to prefer one over the other, not because of pretty looks, but racial features...)

Ikari, are those the type of women you prefer in your signature? Fat/sloppy, light-skinned, black woman with pink hair?

I personally, don't have a preference for any particular race or skin tone. It's simply a combination of looks and personality. If he's a really dark, hot black guy with a great personality Ill give him a chance, if he's a really pale, hot white guy with a great personality I'll give him a chance. (see what I mean). I wouldn't say, oh, this white guy is clearly the hotter, better person, but I'll go with the Asian guy simply because I have a "preference". Remember, preference doesn't always mean you actually like the choice, you're just choosing it rather than the other.

For example, I think medium complexion blacks have the prettiest shade(s) of skin - nothing against whites, my fellow asians or darker blacks (I know blacks come in too many different shades to count).. Like, I reallylike this shade of brown for example and think it's one the prettiest human skin tones ever:



However, I do not have a preference for people with that skin tone (or any skin tone), no matter how beautful I think it may be.

When you say you have a preference for a certain race rather than the other - yes, it then becomes a racial thing, because you have a preference based on race, not actual looks or anything else for that matter - see what I mean?

Now, Ikari said it correct, he said he doesn't find "'dark' black people attractive" - fine, he can't help that. Attraction is a natural, legit thing. See the difference when you say "preference" vs. "attraction"? It's nothing but people probably using the terms interchangeably. Nothing wrong with having a preference either.

There are probably more people who ignorantly accuse people of playing the race card, than there are actual people who really are trying to play the race card – as in this case.

I'm just saying this is not a poll about which race you prefer, but who simply looks better.

His post was nothing special and neither was mines. He just accused someone of attempting to play the race card, and stated what types of people (or skin tones) appeals to him... I guess that qualifies as a GREAT post

That is exactly and all I referred to. Making a statement like that has obvious implications. You don't make a comment like that unless you're trying to imply a racial argument, that you can't bring up skin color because it's taboo. The only thing my post stated was simply that what patrick said isn't worth making comments like that in the first place for since it's just a preference. He stated blatantly he thinks Sheva has a prettier face, but, PREFERS Jill because she appeals to his preferences more. Thus you can say "Sheva's pretty, but, I think Jill is more beautiful" in place of what he said. The only thing he did is state his opinion far more blatantly. And people commented because his comment wasn't Politically correct, which is silly.

And when I say "I'm not usually attracted to dark african americans" and "I prefer lighter skinned people" it's the same thing. Thus 'preference' is a perfectly fine word to use, since that's what it is, a 'preference', the act of 'preferring' one thing over another. No different than liking the color Green over Yellow.

And that was the point in making that example. That patrick or anyone can say they PREFER a certain race or skin color over another without 'disliking' the other or having a problem with it. Thus it has nothing to do with race etc to warrant "I know you didn't just talk about her skin color like that's even a valid point!", it's merely a preference. Thus, in a discussion about beauty, where the 'attraction' aspect of the conversation is ALREADY IMPLIED, I can say "I prefer white people" and NOT have a negative stigmata attached to my comment. I can tell you 'dark' black people I 'do' find attractive, but, it wouldn't change the fact I don't find them nearly as attractive as many lighter skinned people I like. Which is pretty much what patrick said. And that is ALL I pointed out.

Also need I mention your hypocriticism in trying to take shots at me for 'drawing' things out when you've already made multiple posts on this tiny subject, on this same page, whereas prior to this post, I had only posted one small comment. Pot/Kettle?

No one said having a preference was bad, no one said having a preference for one means you dislike the other. So what message are you trying to get across, other than discussing your preferences?

Perhaps you need a reminder, this is not a discussion about racial preference, but who's more beautiful so can you refrain from explaining or discussing your preference, because its all you did, even in the most recent post.
