1) The gap between the North American and Japanese release dates is the longest in series history in terms of original games, standing at eight months and two weeks. However, it is shorter than the gap for the Dreamcast version of Biohazard 2 Value Plus / Resident Evil 2, which was a few days short of one year.
 

2) For Japan, this is the 5th Biohazard game released for the PlayStation 2. For North America, this is the 4th Resident Evil game released for the PlayStation 2 due to the lack of North American release for Resident Evil Gun Survivor 2: CODE: Veronica.
 

3) In Japan, Biohazard Outbreak File 2 was released four months before biohazard 4 on the Nintendo GameCube. In North America, Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 was released a little over three months after Resident Evil 4 on the Nintendo GameCube.
 

4) In Japan, some copies of Biohazard Outbreak File 2 came with a demo of Devil May Cry 3. This is the second time in series history that a Biohazard game came with a demo of a Devil May Cry game.
