Steve Burnside is born. His father works for Umbrella and will be
involved in selling company secrets which results in Steve being
incarcerated on Rockford Island.

REUC – WESKER’S REPORT EXTRACT ON “HER”
10-year old child prodigy Alexia Ashford graduates at the top of her
class from a prestigious university. Umbrella offer her the position of
head researcher at the Antarctic base.
Meanwhile at the Arklay Labs, news of Alexia’s appointment to Umbrella
has reached the Spencer labs and is a topic of hot discussion amongst
the researchers there; of course the Ashford name was legendry to
Umbrella but the Antarctic base, founded after Edward’s death by his son
Alexander, had so far yielded no results and therefore Wesker expected
little from Alexia Ashford, no matter how much of a genius she was.
Birkin however, is extremely jealous, that someone younger than him, and
a female, was in such a grand position in the company. Wesker is also
becoming impatient with the attitude and intelligence of many of the
researchers working at Arklay, and begins to wonder if their true worth
to the company was in using them as test subjects.
By now, research on the T-virus was ready to create the human biological
weapon; a zombie. However the virus couldn’t modify the human genes 100%
and so the virus only had a 90% success rate, which doesn’t satisfy
Spencer. He wanted something that could wipe out the entire population.
The T-virus research was becoming extremely expensive yet Spencer
authorized the project to continue. The weapon was highly profitable as
it was yet to continue developing it meant that it was obvious to Wesker
that Spencer was not in the game for the financial rewards after all.
What was his plan?
Birkin begins to create a living biological weapon with an increased
emphasis on its ability to fight and the Hunter is created.
However, with his increasing jealousy over Alexia, Birkin’s work begins
to suffer and many specimens were lost. Birkin works through the night
time after time repeating disorganised experiments one after the other.
Wesker and his staff collected biopsy samples as quickly as possible
before the specimens would die, but they could not keep up with his
speed.
The Laboratory Manager supplied new specimens all the time, but they
never survived long. It was hell, but Lisa Trevor survived that hell.
Now 28 years old, Lisa survived all of Birkin’s torture. It was a
mystery why all the other specimens died yet she continued to live. 14
years of experimentation should have left her bereft of any logical
thinking.
1982
RE – CATALYSIS
RECVX – RESEARCH REPORT ON QUEEN ANT
Alexia Ashford begins work on the T-Veronica virus. After discovering
the remains of an ancient virus within the genes of a queen ant, Alexia
focuses her research on ants and their ecology. Alexia concludes that
the ecosystem of the ants seem truly ideal in that there is only one
queen in each ant hill and the soldier and worker ants are the queen’s
slaves and that they dedicate their lives to her.
The death of the queen means the demise of the entire ant hill
however the soldier and worker ants can be replaced as long as the queen
ant is alive. Alexia believes this is the exact same relationship
between herself and the ignorant masses.
Alexia succeeds in creating the T-Veronica virus by implanting the
queen ant’s genes into the mother virus that Spencer and her Grandfather
Edward discovered over twenty years ago.
1983
RECVX – ALFRED’S DIARY: JANUARY 30TH
Alfred Ashford discovers a sealed passageway located inside the
Antarctic base. He doesn’t know what is in there but he does know how to
get in. He needs the three jewels from each member of his family. Yet he
does not know how to get hold of his father’s proof.
RECVX – ALFRED’S DIARY: FEBRUARY 17TH
Alfred finally succeeds in getting into the sealed room. It contains the
horrible secret regarding himself and Alexia and makes Alfred hate his
father even more. They were only created because Alexander’s blunder
resulted in the death of Edward Ashford. Alfred will never trust
Alexander again.
RECVX – ALFRED’S DIARY: MARCH 3RD
Together the twins’ capture Alexander and Alexia has injects him with
the T-Veronica virus. Finally after years of failure, their father can
contribute something to the Ashford family.
Alfred meanwhile, stresses they must be careful that Scott Harman,
the family butler, does not get wind of their activities.
RECVX - ALFRED’S DIARY: APRIL 22ND
RECVX – RESEARCH REPORT ON QUEEN ANT
The experiment results in failure. Alexander’s body cannot cope with the
virus and it causes a rapid change in Alexander’s cells, triggering the
complete destruction of his brain and body flesh causing him to mutate
into a dangerous monster and he has to be sealed up in an underground
prison cell. Furthermore, a special type of poison gas was generated
inside his body that the blue herb is ineffective against. Alexia
creates an antidote for this poison in case of an emergency.
Alexia says she is close to a solution however and wishes to conduct
the experiment on her own body. She feels she must be kept asleep for 15
years in order for her own body to incubate the virus. Alfred realises
he is the only one who can protect Alexia.

MESSAGE TO NEW FAMILY MASTER

Following Alexander’s demise, Alfred becomes the seventh head of the
Ashford family aged 12. Scott Harman presents him with an earthenware
vase, according to family tradition. Harman notes that when Sir Edward
passed away in 1968 and Alfred’s father Alexander took over, the
glorious name of the family began to sink. Harman hopes that the family
regains its glory with Alfred’s guidance.
Alexia Ashford also writes to her brother noting that she firmly
believes the glory of the Ashfords will be revived through his courage
and strength as an honoured solider.
WESKER’S REPORT 2 - DECEMBER
RECVX - VIRUS RESEARCH REPORT
Alexia continues her work into T-Veronica and notes the more research
she conducts, the more she is impressed by how much potential it has.
After finally discovering how to utilize its power, she injects the
virus into her own body. She aims to suppress the activity of the virus
at an ultra-low temperature, so that her cells will change more slowly.
She calculates that it will take 15 years before her body will gain
immunity and be able to co-exist with the virus. She realises that
whilst she will be asleep in stasis, she will have no choice but to
trust her loyal but inept brother to protect her, but she realises she
has no choice.
This experiment will be a closely guarded secret and only Alfred will
be aware of it. To cover their tracks, they decide to make a false claim
that Alexia died as a result of an accident.
REOUT 2 – ELEPHANT KEEPER’S DIARY
The elephant parade at Raccoon Zoo in which they outfit star of the
show ‘Oscar’ with Christmas lights takes place for the final time.
WESKER’S REPORT 2: DECEMBER 31ST
Wesker and Birkin receive a report that Alexia Ashford died whilst
conducting dangerous research on a new virus she had created; The
T-Veronica virus. She was only 12 years old and it was far too dangerous
for her at that age. There follows rumours that she had even injected
the virus into herself. Her research passes over to her brother Alfred,
yet no-one expects anything from him. It seems the once-great Ashford
family had finally died out. With Alexia dead, Birkin is once again the
biggest potential Umbrella had and so his attitude completely changes
once more.
Wesker wants to acquire a sample of T-Veronica but Birkin strongly
opposes. Wesker decides to bide his time and conduct his own
investigations into the Ashford’s research at a later date. He also
begins to wonder more about Spencer and why he chose to situate the base
of his research in Raccoon Forest. Due to the high adaptability of the
T-Virus, it seems like such a dangerous location, as if he meant the
virus to escape.
He is beginning to realize his limitations as a researcher and that in
order to find out Spencer’s true intentions, he needs to be in a
position that would give him access to the information he required. In
order to deviate suspicion however, he continues to work with Birkin;
and Lisa Trevor still lived, although branded a failure now as they
could get no useful data from her.
1984

Ashley is born. She is the daughter of future US President Graham.

Ramon Salazar is born. He will grow to become a high member of the Los
Illuminados and play a key role in reviving the Las Plagas parasites. He
will be the 8th Castellan of the Salazar castle in Spain.
1986

Sherry Birkin is born. Daughter to William and Annette Birkin; she is
very shy and doesn’t speak much as her parents never spend much time
with her because of their work.
1987

Michael Warren becomes mayor of Raccoon City after winning a landslide
election.
1988
WESKER’S REPORT 2: JULY 1ST
The research at Arklay has finally reached the third stage. A highly
sophisticated ‘fighting biological weapon’ – with intelligence is
created, codenamed the Tyrant. It could also obey programmed orders and
act as a soldier. The only drawback to this accomplishment was that the
ideal human candidate for a tyrant host is extremely rare, due to the
T-Virus destroying the brain cells. Birkin had to extract a variant from
the host’s brain that would keep its intelligence level up.
Unfortunately if 10,000 people were infected with the T-Virus, only one
would have the right genetics to turn into a tyrant. Wesker concludes
that there are probably only 50 suitable hosts in the whole of the USA.
So far, they had only been able to find a couple of suitable guinea
pigs; their research was at a standstill.
Later in the year, the staff at the Arklay lab hear a rumour that the
European branch are working on a project to create a third generation
living biological weapon. It is called the ‘Nemesis’ project.
Despite Birkin’s protests, Wesker acted quickly to obtain a sample of
the project and a few days later it arrived on the helipad in the middle
of the night; “Nemesis prototype”. It was only through the support of
Spencer were they able to obtain it from the French laboratory.
However, the nemesis parasite has a short life expectancy outside the
host’s body so they plant the parasite inside Lisa Trevor. Surprisingly,
she devours the parasite and lives. This became the first stepping stone
of what would become the G-Virus.
